School Uniform Policy

We expect all children to wear school uniform. We ask parents and carers to make sure that their child is clean and tidy every day. We also ask that everything your child wears or brings be marked in order to avoid loss. Our school colours are royal blue and navy, with children wearing navy or black shoes when arriving and leaving the premises. Boy’s hair should be short and if sikhas are worn they should be tidy. Girl’s hair should be worn tied back or groomed neatly if short. We also encourage the wearing of tilak.

We believe that a school uniform is important as it:

Promotes a sense of pride in the school;
Engenders a feeling of community and belonging;
Is practical and smart;
Identifies the children with the school;
Makes children feel equal to their peers in appearance;
Is regarded as suitable and good value for money by most parents;
Has been designed with health and safety in mind.

Our school uniform is as follows:

Royal blue sweatshirt or royal blue cardigan with embroidered school logo
White polo shirt with embroidered school logo
Royal blue reversible fleece jacket with embroidered school logo (optional)
Royal blue knitted vest with embroidered school logo (optional)
Navy skirt/pinafore dress , blue and white Jaipur print skirt and tunic top, or pale blue gingham dress for summer wear
Smart navy tailored trousers or navy shorts
White socks/navy tights (girls), navy/white socks (boys)
Navy/black shoes with Velcro fastenings are advisable (plain, no heels/logos)

P.E. Kit

Royal blue PE shorts/skort
White T-shirt with printed school logo
Black plimsolls/trainers for outdoor wear
Bag with printed school logo
Royal blue sweatshirt with embroidered school logo, and jogging bottoms for cold weather

Name labels (compulsory)

Jewellery

Children are not allowed to wear jewellery. Tulsi neck beads if worn must be no longer than two inches from the base of the neck. If they have pierced ears they must only wear studs or small flat ear-rings and these should either be removed or covered over with micro tape for P.E. (The children must bring their own). Watches may be worn but also must be removed for P.E. No make-up, including nail polish, may be worn.
